Pumpkin carving tools! I have to say that mentioning things like this in front of my Grandparents makes them look at me like I have two heads. I think my generation gets a lot of that from the generation that experienced the depression. Hey, I know they have a point. You can absolutely carve a pumpkin with a steak knife, ice cream scoop and a tooth pick. Frankly, you can do some pretty cool things with just those tools. However, in defense of my generation, time is not as much of a commodity as it was 70 years ago. Many families have two working parents to keep the household going. So, what happens is that we spend more money on things that might save us a little time which brings us to pumpkin carving tools. Hey, if I can make a few of the cuts with my drill or Dremel, you can bet I am going to do it. I’m going to get it done so I can sit back with some apple cider or pumpkin beer for a few minutes. So, what we’re saying with pumpkin carving tools is that they are out there. Some pumpkin carving tools are more expensive than others. Whether or not you use pumpkin carving tools is a personal decision. The constant battle between time and money will likely be at the center of that decision (like it is for so many of our decisions).
