It makes an event that should be a lot of fun a chore and that’s no good. So, take a look at some of our tips to ensure it is a fun event! - Shop early for you pumpkin carving pattern.
- Take your pumpkin carving pattern with you when shopping for a pumpkin.
- Go on a hay ride and pick your pumpkin from a field, if you have time. It’s usually less expensive and a more festive event.
- Ensure that you have the pumpkin carving tools that you need to carve your pumpkin
- Make a big event out of the carving. Do it with a group of people and have a little party.
- Save the pumpkin seeds and roast them!
- If you’re doing a group Halloween costume, a good time to talk about the idea and finalize the details is while you are carving your pumpkin.
- Don’t get a design that is too complicated for you. You know yourself and if you love details and putting together models with thousands of pieces, you are the person that should carve out the haunted house with 100 windows. If not, we recommend that you pick something simple and fun. Many of the simple designs look great!
- If the weather is good, carve outside! If not, lay down some trash bags inside to avoid a big mess.
- Allow plenty of time to carve your pumpkin! If you get done early, have a coke and a smile!
